Rob Milligan grew up in Trent Hills where he still lives and operates a small beef farm. He received his Bachelor's degree in History and English from Brock University before attending Nippissing to receive his Bachelor's of Education. From 1998 until his election as MPP, Rob taught History and English at Campbellford District High School.
As a teenager, Rob was active in his local Army Cadet Corps and was trained by the Airborne Regiment at CFB Edmonton, where he received his combat parachutist wings. His positive experiences in the Army Cadets as a youth brought him back to the Corps as a volunteer as an adult.
As a teacher and a family man, Rob understands the plight of families in his riding and will represent the people of Northumberland Quinte West at Queen’s park.
A dedicated volunteer, Rob has devoted countless hours to the Percy Minor Hockey Association as an executive member and referee-in-chief. These positions are known to be thankless in nature, but are extremely important to the operation of a local minor hockey association.
A committed husband and father, Rob has been married to his wife Rebecca for over 10 years and has two young daughters, ages eight and nine. When Rob has free time he enjoys spending time with his family, playing pick-up hockey, and fishing.
